Albemarle County Commonwealth’s Attorney Candidate Robert Tracci Renews Call for Public Forums
In an e-mail dated September 10th, Tracci invited Albemarle Commonwealth's Attorney Denise Lunsford to attend public forums to provide voters an opportunity to learn more about “our respective visions and priorities for this important constitutional office.” In a September 14th response, Lunsford campaign manager Thomas Cross stated that Lunsford “will do her best to consider and attempt to accommodate" this request.
Today, Tracci renewed calls for public discussions. “The Commonwealth's Attorney is elected by the people. Transparency and accountability are essential. It is disappointing that my opponent cannot find time to discuss her record and priorities with Albemarle voters. During the past seven days, my opponent has found time to attend partisan campaign events and at least one closed door fundraiser. Many more are planned. Albemarle voters deserve better."
"To provide Albemarle voters an opportunity to make a more informed choice on November 3rd, I again respectfully request a series of public forums with my opponent. Organizations including the League of Women Voters, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Innocence Project, and other civic or law enforcement organizations would be ideal settings for such forums. We look forward to a timely response to this request."
